F.A.Q.
Synthetic turf is designed to simulate the appearance and function of natural grass. This all-weather playing field allows for year-round use, low maintenance, and colors that replicate local grass.

Infill is a bulk product that is spread into the turf fibers to help the blades stand up. Infill also provides substantial cushioning and support to the synthetic turf field. Infill options can be found here.
Synthetic turf has a significant, positive impact on our environment in a variety of ways. Nearly 8 billion gallons of water are conserved annually throughout the United States because of the use of synthetic fields. Some municipalities are even offering tax credits for the water conservation. Millions of pounds of harmful pesticides and fertilizers are eliminated and the reduction of noxious emissions from mowers are less with the installation of synthetic turf.
Yes. The turf options R.A.D. Sports offers are all produced without lead. The infills have been scientifically examined and proven to be safe for people of all ages.
The average lifespan of a synthetic turf field is 8-10 years, but this can vary depending on the usage and maintenance of the field.
While the initial cost of a synthetic turf field is higher, the field typically pays for itself in 3-4 years. Synthetic turf fields can endure longer, harder usage, require less maintenance, and may also be used as rental revenue, making them a wise and cost-effective investment.
Synthetic turf has a built-in UV protection solution that maintains color even under constant, direct sunlight. Any fading will be so slight that it will be undetectable to the human eye.
The maintenance is much less time and money than a natural turf field, but there are specific guidelines for frequency and techniques. R.A.D. Sports provides all of these services. Check out our turf maintenance services here.
The turf we remove from existing fields is cut into pieces and shipped off to be recycled.
TESTIMONIALS
“I never dreamed that it would take more than four years to get town and state approval for our new field, especially when we were building it for students for whom time is very precious. Today, the field that RAD Sports built was truly enjoyed by some very special people. When those wheelchairs moved across the field, I thought of the careful attention to detail that Derek took in making this field just perfect. Your incredible building team had our students in mind when you took an inaccessible swamp and made it into a fully accessible playing field in 3 weeks. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!”

“You accepted the challenge with a limited summer construction schedule and delivered an outstanding project, on time, on budget and with the highest standards of workmanship. In less than 12 weeks, you transformed our campus and created athletic facilities which now match the high standards we set for our students who use the facilities. The quality of your work has had a very positive effect on the BC High students who use the facilities.”

“As the athletic director for Bentley College, I worked very closely with RAD Sports on a recently completed field renovation project costing in excess of one million dollars. This company did an excellent job in every aspect associated with a project of this size. Numerous difficulties were presented toward this project and RAD Sports met each one of these challenges in a first-class manner. Timetables were adhered to, change orders were non-existent, and lines of communication were well established.”

“When RAD Sports wins one of our projects we are all able to breathe easier. They bring competitive pricing, years of experience, and exceptional attention to detail. Their knowledge of the industry is invaluable and we continue to look to them as a resource time and time again.”
